I’m really hoping Batch 8 gets their emails this week and we get ours next week. Really hoping to actually have a laptop for work and school. Fingers crossed :crossed_fingers:

Batch 7 is reporting less issues too so i’m hoping ours will be consistent! I will cry if there’s a defect and need to wait another week lmao

Looks like they are getting their prep emails :eyes::eyes::eyes:

had a look through all the batches, on avarage it takes about 7 to 10 days between different batches to get their prep email.
Batch 7 got their prep 7 days ago and some already have their laptop
Batch 8 today.
meaning batch 9 should come somewhere the next (two) week(s)
(and batch 10 before the end of this month which is out of scope here but i am in that batch and stalking batch 9 to see when i can expect my emails. The hype be real.)

edit: doing some excell work i see the median is at 10,5 days between batch email notifications

Love this level of dedication :joy::joy: Can’t wait to strut around with my new set up

I need to figure out how I can get my hands on a hot pink USB-C expansion module….

umm.. hot pink is my favourite colour.. do these exist? or are you saying you need to find a way to get a new colour? (i’d also be interested in more ‘exciting’ colours for expansion module shells)

I’m saying I need to find a way to get one. I’ve seen people do 3D printed prototypes of expansion modules, but I’m not sure if those would hold up in the real world (disclaimer: I’m new to the Framework ecosystem and currently don’t own any of their stuff…yet)

I’ve run off a quick test print of the STL’s that Framework released: Framework Laptop Expansion Card by Framework Computer | Download free STL model | Printables.com

It’s definitely strong enough for everyday use.

Is it possible to swap out a stock USB-C expansion module and put it into a 3D printed one? (Not that I have a 3D printer haha)

in theory, you should be able to. i’ve been digging around trying to find an already modeled USB-C enclosure, but haven’t found one yet

edit: found one, it uses the stock top panel, but that should be all hidden on the inside when inserted

Boom. That’s what I need. Now to find a place that will print it in #fe386e for me haha

i may end up doing the same, just closer to #ff0055

I was so excited when I thought that batch 9 was finally being shipped, only to discover that I was reading the batch 8 thread… ;__; Welp, at least we know that ours is immediately up next!
