FW12: Tablet Mode on Windows 11 does not support auto-rotate

I have been using the Framework 12 on Windows 11 (25H2) for a few weeks now and have absolutely been loving the experience. I was able to complete the installation, set up a user account, install the drivers provided by Framework, and do all my programming and authoring tasks on the go (which is what I got the laptop for).

A minor issue that I have come across is the fact that Windows does not seem to recognize the accelerometer. I have tried searching for it in Device Manager to no avail, and do not get a Rotation Lock icon in the Action Center when in Tablet Mode (and the screen does not rotate).

Just wanted to throw this out to see if anyone else is dealing with this. It’s not a dealbreaker by any means, I am just curious. Especially given this was not an issue on my previous Ubuntu standalone install, and my current Fedora dual boot alongside Windows.

That is odd because it absolutely is able to rotate on mine. (Rotation lock is present) I’m no longer running Windows on mine, but it did work when I had it on there.

Maybe you could try reinstalling the Framework driver bundle.

Hello! I had the same issue with mine as well, and I got mine to work after redownloading the driver package from the site and redownloading the drivers. I’m not sure why the first two times I installed the drivers didn’t work but the third time it did. I noticed that the installation waited for me to press enter the third time before restart along with a windows warning, unlike the previous two times. Hope this helps anyone!
