Fw13 AMD Ubuntu Front usb c ports not charging?

Hello, I just switched from windows to Ubuntu 24 and noticed front 2 usb c ports are not charging the laptop. (They were working on windows just an hour ago) They dedect other usb devices. I followed official Linux installation guide and copy pasted the code to terminal and rebooted.

This is a big problem because I’m using rear 2 ports for usb c display and expansion card SSD.

How to solve this?

Please keep in mind that I’m total Linux noob and may not understand technical terms much.

Thanks a lot.

Can someone help please? Damn, windows it is then?…

I cannot help. I have this problem (some usb-c ports not charging) and /none/ do when I connect a dock for my external screens. The dock used to supply charge via power delivery (PD), but stopped doing so a few months ago. Plus the official charger doesn’t charge when using the dock. It’s a mess and I have browsed countless extremely long threads to fix it. I’ve cleaned ports, I have reset the battery in the BIOS, and physically, I’ve switched to using an older kernel (6.12 LTS), I’ve tried deactivating the ucsi_acpi module, I am on the 3.16 (latest) bios, and I installed it twice to ensure it wasn’t partially installed, I’ve pressed the on button for >30s, and I’ve danced the rain dance; of course each time trying all the ports, different cables, connecting without the usb-c expansion card, etc). By now I am desperate.

I am on Pop_OS! 22.04, X.org, AMD 7840. Note that Linux as a whole may not be responsible: everything worked for me between January and say, June. I’ve been postponing filing a warranty claim with the hope that I would be able to fix by myself, but I am getting insane by now.
