FW13 - LEDs Blinking - i7 13th

Hello!

This afternoon, my FW shut itself down while I was using it. This has never happened to me before (the battery was fully charged).

When I tried to boot it, nothing happened. The power button does not light up, but the side LED blinks.

It blinks red for (According to this guide):

  • 2: Power Good 3V5V supply DIAGNOSTICS_HW_PGOOD_3V5V
  • 9: Fan detected and spins up DIAGNOSTICS_NOFAN
  • 10: CPU reached S0 state DIAGNOSTICS_NO_S0

I tried removing the RAM and inserting a working one, but it had no effect. I haven’t tried to fully reset the motherboard yet because it seems like a tedious task. If someone from FW asks me to, I will do it.

  • Be extremely careful when sliding the Battery connector out, as it is very easy to accidently bend the pins. Make sure to slide straight down, and avoid letting the connector twist or bend.

Any ideas?

P.S. I already contacted support, but I thought asking here could be faster since it’s the weekend and they are probably overwhelmed.

Your best option is probably to just perform a mainboard reset. Many posts have their boot issues solved after performing the mainboard reset.

Support asked me to perform a series of tests, but nothing is working at the moment. Including a mainboard reset, still not working.

I don’t think there’s a solution to the issue. I’m talking to multiple people, and they’re asking me the same questions that have already been answered in the same email thread…

Let’s see where this takes me…

You will likely have to work it out with support. Worse case scenario you will have to wait for them to ship you a replacement mainboard.

Hey, I have the same problem. Have tried mainboard reset and replacing the fan and contacting support but no luck so far. Did you ever get a resolution?

Hi ! I also tried this whem support asked me to. It didn’t worked. Then, support sent me a remplacement motherboard, everything is okay with the new one.

May i ask, do you have fw-fanctrl installed?

I don’t think so
