FW16 Batch 1 Guild

The parcel is actually out for delivery. I’m waiting to be delivered by noon today. It’s 9am here in France.

Damn. Lucky you. French Keyboard is faster than Linux English International …

I think all other keyboards are faster than Linux :face_holding_back_tears:

And blank RGB. Probably what’s holding mine back as well.

Yet it powers the internet! Bad priorities if y´all ask me!

Correct me If I’m wrong, but today is the day the factory making the RGB Macro pad starts production? Getting ready to get anxious about getting an email again (though I can only assume they’ll have to make a run, process through QC and pack it before it even get’s sent to Framework for our shipments).

You are correct. I just had an email popup that said “Your order is ready” which had me all excited until I brought my email application to the front and found that it was…my dry cleaning. The anticipation is reaching fever pitch, ha. To paraphrase a line from a song, it will be soon. Hopefully the ending is happier than in the song.

Watch macro pad batch 1 owners start receiving their laptops before people like me without the macro pad :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s now effectively the 20th in China so they should already have one day of manufacturing behind them. Jury’s still out on if these “February 19” macropads will ship before my “early February” Linux keyboard.

You’re not alone! Still waiting for my “early February” Linux keyboard B1 order to get charged/shipped as well. Hoping it is soon or they update us saying it delayed so I can change it out if need be.

Got mine delivered this morning. Was due tomorrow, but was hoping that it would leave the local distribution center today. Glad I checked the tracking data, since it got delivered with the claim that there was a signature on file…

Just finished installing Windows, and everything appears to be working!

Edit: with the caveat that I was apparently foiled by getting a 2 TB 2230 drive along with my 2 TB 2280 drive – disk 0 was the 2230, not the 2280 as I guessed! Time to reinstall.

Oh, man, every time, lol. It seems like every time I build a desktop I get hit with that. I’ll install a Gen 5, NVME drive, blazing fast, and then just throw in an old, cheap SSD I had for some extra storage and then when I get to the install I realize they are the same size and nothing about the labeling in the Windows installer tells me which is which. So I go with what I think makes sense, only to be like “Nope, wrong.”

I had actually planned to put in one drive to start, install the OS, then install the next drive, specifically to avoid what you ran into. But I appreciate the info that drive 0 is the 2230. Makes life easier for me when my batch 8 finally arrives.

Yup, that’s how I nearly destroyed a windows raid. Even though an erroneous delete went through, thankfully it was able to recover on it’s own

Two sets of 4 disk raids with of identical part number? Not a good time.

Finally got charged early yesterday, and my shipping notice today… says it’s arriving Wednesday. Will have to wait and see if that’s true as the package looks to still be in Taiwan at the moment.

Thankful I won’t have to keep coming back to see others get theirs, but hoping for a quick resolution and shipment for the rest of y’all.

my 16 came in today. Installed NixOS and brought over all my configs :stuck_out_tongue: it’s running great!

Did you have any issues ?
I plan to run NixOS on my FW16 (batch 6) just curious if there is anything that I could setup in advance…

Things “Just Work” for the most part. The setting to disable the trackpad while typing doesn’t seem to have an effect, though (in Pantheon)

Batch 3 prep emails are going out now with shipments expected to start around Friday 23 February. Still no word on my wayward Batch 1 order.

Yea I’m in the same boat. Batch 1 for me still in ‘Order Status Pre-Order Confirmed’.

Who would have thought that a Linux keyboard with one simple key printing change would have delayed it so much.

I’m still hopeful that the email will come early this week, but the Batch 2 and 3 emails are definitely disheartening with no update for me.
