FW16 BIOS Flash using flash programmer

It explains how some people have been able to recover their main-board after a failed flash.
They use a clip on BIOS flash programmer to do it on a FW13.

I was wondering if this is possible on a FW16.
My thinking is, use the clip on programmer to make a backup of the BIOS flash.
Then, if anything goes wrong during the normal FW directed BIOS upgrade, I can then easily recover the BIOS flash, using the backup I took of it.

So, I have not tried yet, but if anyone can tell me which chip on the FW16 main-board is the BIOS flash chip, it would help.
Maybe take a pic and post it here?

I am hoping it is not on the bottom of the main-board.

This isn’t advisable because in-system programming with a clip (if flash is powered by the clip) is quite dangerous. Boards rarely have protection from an external power source supplied to flash, so you are likely powering parts of the entire board when you do so. You certainly wouldn’t want to do this ‘just in case’ the (tested and supported) software flash process fails. (Manufacturers tend to prepare boards with a debug interface.)
