Graphical glitches on fresh boot

Which Linux distro are you using? Fedora Workstation (gnome)

Which release version? 44

Which kernel are you using? 7.2.11-200.fc44.x86_64

Which BIOS version are you using? The default bios version

Which Framework Laptop 13 model are you using? Intel 358H

This just started happening, so it may be kernel / libs related.

When I first boot up, the bios and login screen look fine, but once I hit the gnome desktop the entire screen is filled with graphical artifacts for a short period. It seems to go away when I move the mouse around and open the system panel in the top right.

I tried looking in journalctl and dmesg but dont see any obvious errors coming from xe, or acpi.

Has anyone resolve this? Or found a previous kernel version that works well that I can pin until it’s resolved upstream?

I primarily want to ensure this isn’t an issue with my hardware and is software / firmware related.

This seems like a graphics driver issue. Can you reboot and select and older kernel and let us know if the issue persists? You should be able to switch to an older kernel from the bootloader. Hey Chris, newer and older versions of the kernel still present the issue. I dont have the kernel version I had when I first installed Fedora anymore.

Perhaps it may be mesa or the intel-gpu-firmware?

I tried with VRR enabled and disabled it doesn’t make a difference in that regard.

I also have this problem on F45 KDE 6.8 when I unlock or open the laptop the screen looks weird will try to get a picture.

Same Issue! Fedora 44, Gnome 50. Always happens when I open the laptop or when freshly started
