Hey Nathan, I was on the same boat. Try this, it works for me now:

@Nathan_Wolf Nice to see I wasnāt the only one. I think the fingerprint sensor occasionally worked for me in the end. I havenāt tried yalls suggestions, but glad to see there are paths forward for others.
Bigger problem might be that I go bouldering often. It became hard for me to tell if it is the sensor not working or my fingersā skin being too worn. It kinda de-incentivizes me from properly troubleshooting.
Bouldering! Golly, that is not a hobby that has much draw for me but I totally respect the drive. Climbing walls are about as much as I do. Iām pretty great at falling off of them.
I have found that the fingerprint sensor using openSUSE Tumbleweed with Plasma 6 is pretty decent. Itās at least as good as my Pixel 7 phone in getting it right. The only issue I seem to have is that I only get like two tries before Plasma rejects checking it again. So, not much different, again, than my Pixel. I think I need some more time to warm up to using the fingerprint sensor in general. It works, but I am on the fence if I want to use it.
I posted this on Discord, but I think it is useful here.
FYI: I have 8+ computers of various brands. Two are Frameworks. I run Opensuse Tumbleweed on all of them. I donāt do development to speak of, but mostly browsing, music listening/editing, drawing, video editing, and 3D printing support. For me, Opensuse has had fewer issues than other distros, including Fedora. Any Opensuse problems have been minor, and easy to fix with a few Internet searches.
Didnāt know where to post this, as Iād like Framework to consider official support for Opensuse. Iām is the US where Opensuse doesnāt get much play, but in Europe, it is quite common and well supported.
