Problem:

Every time i boot most linux distro they always set headphones as default sound source, is there a way to disable headphones or something? SInce i do not have any audio expansion module installed only 2x USB A, 2x USB C, Micro SD and SD card reader.

I would want to make so laptop puts Speakers on default, some times when i even reboot os it puts headphones as main sound again so i have to change it back to speakers, it is quite annoying and i hope for a easy solution for this problem so rest of linux os stops putting headphones as default sound.

Hi @JakeSully, I run Linux Mint 22.3 on my FW16 and i don’t have this issue.

Laptop speakers and mic always on after every bounce.

FYI… my headset is bluetooth connected.

sadly for me every time i boot most linux distro like ubuntu, zorin os etc it puts headphones as main sound and i gota manually change it to speakers.

Once i changed it, then it stays on speakers. But if i re-install or boot up into live distro again, same thing happens again Headphones are automaticly set as main sound. It’s very annoying, idk why it’s doing that

Only distro that didn’t do it is garuda or w.e it is called, there it only detected speaker but no headphones.

Your headphones are cable connected?

nope, i don’t even have audio jack module, which is why i don’t get why OS is detecting headphones -.-

I assume you have configured the “Linux Audio Compatibility” setting in the BIOS?

Otherwise this might help re Pulseaudio default audio device:

ofcourse, it’s set to linux.

Thing is it happens not only in zorin it happens in many other linux distro’s as well, like ubuntu, fedora etc. Only distro that did not do it was barcuda or w.e name is and that one only detected speakers but no headphones.

So idk why other distro’s detects headphones as default once i boot up live cd copy or so, when i manually set it to speakers it stays on speakers. But once i wipe the drive and boot live copy again, back to usual “Headphones” thing again and i gota put speakers as main sound.

I want to get rid of headphones all together and make so all linux distro’s detects Speaker as sound as default and stop doing headphones as default, so then live cd copies will also do speakers on default too.

Sorry out of ideas.
