How to share my screen on Linux(Arch)

Hello,

I have the problem that I would like to share my screen on Arch. For that I installed GNOME Network Displays but it just shows the following message:

Kernel Version: 6.12.10-arch1-1
BIOS Version: 3.05

The last update I ran was last week.

I have a Framework 13 with a AMD Ryzen 5 7640U CPU

Hello,

Are you using the included Wi-Fi card or a different one? What packages for networking did you install?

Hi, thanks for the reply.

I use the Wi-Fi card that was already installed. Package wise I installed Networkmanager and iwd as the backend.

I wonder if this is the card that you have, is it the Intel or the MediaTek one? You can get some information with this script then send it over:

curl -s https://raw.githubusercontent.com/FrameworkComputer/linux-docs/main/Network-Diagnostic-Scripts/Wifi-Diagnostic.sh -o Wifi-Diagnostic.sh && clear && bash Wifi-Diagnostic.sh

The script said that arch is not supported. But as far as I found out I have the RZ616 WiFi

Looking at the script, you need to have the following installed: pciutils iw inxi speedtest-cli

I installed them (well, the missing speedtest-cli on my system), then commented out the section that checks the os version and does the installation, and ran the script.

For what it is worth, I am running arch on a 16" with amd and the same wifi card, and gnome-network-displays does seem like it is working to share the screen.

Sorry for my late reply.

Now it worked. This is the output:

INSIGHTS
========
System Information:
- Your system specifications are important for Wi-Fi performance. A recent kernel version often includes the latest Wi-Fi drivers and features.
Wi-Fi Interface:
- Connected to network: GL-MT3000-3a8
- You are on the 2.4 GHz band. This has better range but might be more congested.
- Good signal strength. Should be sufficient for most applications.
- Good transmission rate. Suitable for most high-bandwidth activities.
Speed Test:
- Speed test results not available. Unable to provide insights on network performance.
Network Environment:
- Signal quality is good. This should provide stable Wi-Fi performance.
- Connection speed is good. This should support most online activities.
- Power save mode is on. This may improve battery life but could potentially impact Wi-Fi performance.

VPN Status:
- No VPN (tun0 OpenVPN or wg0 WireGuard) detected. Your internet traffic is not being routed through a VPN at the moment.```

Found the Problem:

The reason it did not work is because I was using iwd as the backend for NetworkManager
