How to upgrade AMD Fingerprint firmware on Fedora 40 silverblue

I’m trying to follow

but I’m using Fedora Silverblue 40, so I can’t install the old Fedora 39 fwupd version using dnf and with the new version it doesn’t seem to find any upgrades:

any tips? Perhaps that guide should be updates for Fedora 40?

Update: I used a Fedora 39 live system without major issues.

Hi @Jonathan_Haas ,

Just confirming you have successfully updated the fingerprint firmware using Fedora 39 Live?

Yes. The Fingerprint reader is working now.

I just saw that the instructions have been updated and downgrading fwupd seems no longer necessary. That’s good to see because downloading an ISO and doing the installation stuff in the live system was relatively annoying.
