I converted a Macbook into a PC

You might be in luck on the top case as its as far as I can tell just USB and the controller is build into the trackpad. Just look at the schematic and you can see on J9600 pins 7,9,11,13 should just be the USB portion. Have you tested connecting those 4 pins to a USB cable and plugging that into some pc (ideally linux as windows doesnt come with the drivers, at least thats the case on the 2010 one)? If it doesnt work maybe it needs the 3v3 voltages too. I didnt bother with the keyboard backlight on mine because I dont care for backlight on a keyboard so you have to figure that one out yourself, but it looks like its the same connector. You would need a boost converter for the leds though as that one is on the main pcb, but can also just copy the design if you care for it. Youd need the signal for the backlight and I think the only convenient way would be to build a converter from the signal on the Keyboard Backlight Connector of the framework mainboard. But again didnt bother as I didnt care.

I have gotten the topcase working now, all i really need from here is the input shim for the fw board with pins for usb, pw switch, and pw status. i kinda wanna make my own with pins for the kb backlight since the originals arent available any way but I dont really know where to start with this as i have absolutely no exp with pcb designs or even ordering custom ones :confused:

also starting to work on speakers, i guess i could just make a custom setup inside with some bigger drivers than the original? idk

I dont understand what you mean by input shim.
For the power button it seems to just be plugged in and has its own cable, so you should be able to do something like I did, however that is quite risky if you are not reasonably skilled in soldering.
The framework uses an FPC connector for power button and its light so you could also take it from there.
If you dont know any PCB design the backlight might be a tough journey. You could copy apples design but if you have no oscilloscope and other test equipment at home you will find getting that to work quite difficult.
For the speakers you can also go off of my design. Ive used the force canceling speakers because that way I can get good volume with no rattling of my laptop, especially the keyboard. If you just use the framework speakers you will find that to be a major issue. If you try and use the old speaker this might also present some issues as you would need a well working tiny crossover (Im assuming you are using a 13 inch mainboard which has only stereo out).
Building the USB boards will be challenging for you and I have no clue how you can even do it to be honest. You can go off of my design but even doing a USB 2.0 board is challenging and thats assuming youre skilled in electronics design and soldering.
One thing you could do is use usb extensions and only build mechanical pieces to hold them in place.

input shim is a modular piece for mods made by someone else, its alright tho i found a workaround, i have everything working and im about to seal it all up soon but im kinda worried about battery life with the bigger screen and other stuff i added, how did you go about extending the battery leads/the double battery setup?
