Framework Drawing Tablet PC

Wanted to make a drawing tablet PC so I could draw anywhere in my home, and also had my old mainboard to use, so I combined it with a cheap drawing tablet into this thing

The long short of it is: Framework laptop 13 mainboard + battery attached to the back of a Huion Kamvas 13 tablet with an 8 key macro pad running Ubuntu.

The whole thing is about 2.5cm thick at the thickest, but the sides are slim enough to hold onto comfortably. The uploaded STL files have a different design for the ventilation holes as I wanted something personal for mine. Pretty much works like a regular laptop but with only a screen and a few buttons.

Doing the CMOS battery replacement on my OG mainboard was pretty easy and prevents the annoying issues I used to deal with when I don’t charge my laptop for a few days. Using the input connector shim was a lot harder as it’s really easy to short the pins on the mezzanine connector. I ended up giving up and routing the USB for the macro pad externally, but I’ll try to make more foolproof shims in the future.

Really happy with how this turned out, even the original mainboard with i7-1165G7 is enough to run Krita and do everything I need in this little tablet
