I have had the Ultra 7 155H for a year now running Windows, and the massive performance decrease while on battery while doing mostly browser and PDF based work is…aggravating. Opening a PDF, explorer window, etc etc takes double the time on battery. I can force the processor into high performance, but then the battery life goes from ~5 hours to 2.5 hours which is a ridiculous compromise.
I had the same issue with the 11th gen and 13th gen Intel processors on my Framework as well. I can find lots of complaints about Intel and running slow on battery, but AMD seems to be simply a ~25% drop in performance, and because of that, I am now highly considering the AI 9 HX 370 upgrade.
My question is, are the AMD processors as affected when on battery where opening docs/apps are significantly slower? Does anyone have any experience swapping from the Core 1 to AMD AI series?
