Framework 16 good? Compared to mac? Working AI with other hardware, could serve as powerful mobile station moving big info blocks
If you are used to the MAC, continue using it.
in contrast to the MAC, the FW16 has ram slot’s, so memory transfers are not that fast.
Check out the Using a Framework Desktop for local AI - #4 by Kyle_Reis blog entry. The Framework Desktop has soldered LPDDR5 ram which provides a very fast memory subsystem and is able to compete. But it is not a portable device.

The Framework 16 is good, but can’t really be compared directly to a Mac. Different OSes, different hardware strengths and weaknesses, such as the Framework being entirely repairable by the user (and all Macs are essentially only repairable by Apple).
You might say that it’s like comparing Apples and oranges.

Thanks for the replies. True that it cant be compared to apple. As all the parts are replaceable. It seems good to know how and what hardware to replace or what makes up a laptop. It seemed more custom user friendly than using a mac book. A lot of writing. ai developing language and writing used as a portable office. Been looking at laptops and frameworks laptop 6 seemed to be interesting
