The Problem:
I often swap between join monitors and external only with Meta + P depending on what I’m doing. Every time I do this, or if I swap between different monitors, the display configuration resets. This includes position, refresh rate, etc.
The reason I do this is because I like to have my laptop open for ventilation but usually only want one screen. Sometimes, I have issues with my cursor not locking to a fullscreen game when multiple monitors are connected, so I use this as a fix. It also increases performance slightly to be on one monitor.
I usually connect through usb-c, but this also happens on displayport.
