Kensington Security Slot

Hiya, I was curious if anyone could find information on which type Kensington security slot is used? There’s 3 types from what I can find —standard, nano, and wedge— I’m guessing that it’s either the standard or nano version but it is somewhat unclear from the images. I’m planning to create some form of stylus loop that use the security slot, so know this would give me an idea of what I have to work with.

I quickly measured the slot in two images, both sides of the laptop, and it appears to be standard. Confirmation would be nice though.

Can confirm, looks like a standard. Using a kensington lock as a stylus holder is such a cool idea! I wish you luck!

Cheers all. Current ideas involve sandwiching elastic between some 3D printed pieces with screws holding it all together. I’ll update once I’ve got a CAD model or two done. I’ll likely opensource once I’ve got the general shape fleshed out a bit.

Like that you want to make something that it already mentioned in the next thread here: Where to put the pen? - #6 by Jonathan_Haas

I’d seen that, but when I looked at the model linked I wasn’t that big a fan of either the way it attaches to the computer or the stylus. I’d initially considered a modified expansion card as well —which I believe is also mentioned in that thread. Honestly with how much Framework seems to like using magnetic attachment methods —bezels, input modules, etc—I wouldn’t be surprised if the pen can be magnetically attached.

In a video there was the stylus on top of the FW12. Was that magnetic? Or just for the video?

I saw that too, also the stylus has a flat face which in my experience is not typically on a stylus that doesn’t attach magnetically. Hopefully we’ll get more details about the stylus before it’s launched.
