Which Linux distro are you using? Arch
Which release version? Updated an hour ago
Which kernel are you using? 6.12.11
Which BIOS version are you using? 3.03
Which Framework Laptop 16 model are you using? AMD Ryzen™ 7040 Series
I tried upgrading the BIOS on my Arch Framework 16. I used
fwupdmgr refresh
fwupdmgr get-updates
fwupdmgr update
Which installed the updates and prompted me to reboot. When I typed yes in the terminal the laptop rebooted and went to the BIOS update screen. It seemed like everything was fine, but the screen glitched out during the middle of the upgrade. Did the upgrade fail? Is it safe to forcibly shut down? What should I do next?
UPDATE: I can’t even shut it down by pressing the power button. I tried pressing it for 60 seconds and it still wouldn’t turn off. Is it safe to manually detach the battery to physically kill it?
