Linux webcam software "Webcamoid"

Inspired by Framework’s excellent webcam I just got a 2K webcam for my desktop (shh, don’t tell Framework, it might get jealous!)

Cheese is simple but just wasn’t cutting it for me with the really good cameras available now. Absurdly low framerates out of cameras that I know are better.

I installed Webcamoid and I’d like to recommend it to anyone on Linux playing with the webcam on their Framework laptop, or any other webcam for that matter.

I don’t have it open right now, but it allowed me to go from 2 fps at 2K using the default format that both Cheese and VLC use, to 30 fps using a different format.

Yeah, good software. Also allows creating virtual camera as a proxy to your real one and add some effects in between.
