Low Battery Notification and Screen Flickering

I have the Framework 13 with AI 5 340.

I am on Fedora using KDE. I got a notification about running out of battery and that it would go to sleep in 60 seconds, but the battery percentage was at 76% when I checked. When I plugged it in, the notification went away. It has randomly happened twice so far since I got the laptop early this year.

I am curious why that would happen. It doesn’t seem like it’s a bad battery connection, which would shut down the laptop if the battery couldn’t drain anymore. It seems like the battery falsely alarmed the OS about running out?

Occasionally, I’ve seen the screen flicker, but I don’t know if there is anything I can do about it.

I can’t offer you a solution, but I have the same hardware and get a similar notification about the battery being dead and shutdown is imminent (Fedora Gnome for me). The notification flashes on the screen quickly and then disappears, as you say, almost as if there is a false alarm about the battery status. At no point is there ever any interruption of power.

Same issue, the notification flashes briefly and goes away, battery at 96% and no other indication of an issue. On Ubuntu with Gnome with the Ryzen AI 7 350 FW 13
