Having the “daily use” USB ports on expansion cards does exactly this. The ones inside the computer are protected from day-to-day wear and the cards are trivially replaceable.
@DHowett I agree that it probably won’t be a problem for 99.99% of people, but I also have to agree with (if I remember correctly) Louis Rossmann and iFixit that the soldered USB-C ports are a teeny tiny drawback that may have been avoidable.
