I’d like to see an option for a matte screen. The Laptop 13 and 13 Pro both have matte anti-glare surface, so it seems only natural to add this as an option for the 12 as well.

A matte screen can prematurely wear stylus tip from what I heard. I’m not sure from what material Framework’s stylus is made but in my case (Surface Pen 4), the tip seems fine but the other side (rubber) leaves marks on the screen. They can be easily cleaned off (and I don’t use it that often anyway) but it indicates that the material is getting left on a screen.
I’ve had a good luck with local to my country (or maybe they operate in entire Europe?) phone screen protector manufacturer. They offer something called “hybrid glass” in matte and clear version. I asked them and sent the link to Framework’s github with screen dimensions and I’ve got a matte screen on mine <3
You can tell them to not create a hole that is marked to the right of camera because that’s just a camera usage indicator.

Yeah, before I posted this thread, I read through a long thread about different screen protectors ([FEATURE REQUEST] Paperlike screen protectors for the upcoming Framework 12) which had a lot of useful information.
While it’s great that those solutions exist, they’re not for me. I really don’t like the application process, which, in my experience, is never as easy as the marketing would like you to believe. And the end result always ends up looking off, especially if you’re not able to find a protector that’s tailor made for the device. I’d really prefer an option for a matte screen from the factory.
I’ve had/have 2-in-1 devices from Toshiba/Dynabook with matte screens (Toshiba Portege Z20t-C-12F and Dynabook Portégé X30W-K-100) which have served me well over the years. When it’s time to replace that device in a few years, I’m hoping there will be an option for a matte screen for the Framework 12, or that they’ve added a 360 hinge as an option for the Laptop 13/13 Pro.
I’d really like these! Or just an anti-glare screen protector. What I’ve been able to find is paper like which I’m very hesitant to use due to how quickly it wears nibs out
