Ive had my Framework 16 up and running almost 2 weeks and I try to join a meeting and no one can hear me. I check my switches and my camera works just fine. Audio is set to Linux in bios, I can hear just fine. No one can hear me. Ive tried all the audio options and none work. I ended up using a headset but Id like to get this fixed. Ive reached out to Framework as I saw someone else here had the same issue, but just in case there is something else I can check, I wanted to ask the brain trust.
Just to rule out; the microphone off switch is mirrored compared to the webcam off switch. So the microphone switch should be to the left and the webcam switch to the right to have them both on.
I started experiencing this same issue. My camera detects fine, but my microphone does not. It was working previously but stopped working between April 18 2026, and May 7 2026.
For troubleshooting I tried rebooting with both the camera/mic switches on and off and I removed my bezel to inspect the webcam module. I also reseated the webcam cable from both ends and there was no change (camera still works, microphone does not).
External microphones also work fine which is why it took me so long to notice (I don’t use the built in mic often).
I loaded Fedora on a flash drive and booted from that and the built in microphone DID start working. So I think this is a software issue with bazzite on the Framework 16, and that is why we are seeing 3 reports (including mine) in the same time frame.
Next, I’m going to open an issue up with Bazzite devs (assuming i can find the appropriate place to report) to see if they can look into it since it doesn’t seem to be a hardware issue.
