As for now I cannot exit screen saver without flipping the keyboard the back the whole way and press a key. I want to touch the screen to exit screen saver.
I am on Omarchy.

Opened an enhancement ticket on github for my “cause”…
I’ll look into this and see if I can get a fix in before someone else.
Search for “screensaver” description on マリウス . A Word on Omarchy
It’s some kind of hack, not a real screensaver.
Subjective at best. In fact with modern screen technology the need for screensaver to protect against screen burn in or fading are not relevant anymore. There are no real screensavers being used any more.
However what the screensaver does on Omarchy in fact does exactly what a screen saver does.
My initial guess is that the Omarchy screensaver is a terminal based solution and as such is only responding to keyboard input.
As this is a developer focused distro my guess is just that the liklihood of having someone using it without a keyboard (especially becuase it is heavily keyboard driven) would not be something that would need to be addresses. That said I’ll still try to find some time to translate touch events to “waking” from this. No promises though.
That was true before oled came into play, then again oleds can turn on and off on without downsides (no having to warmup a tube and need a screensaver to keep it running) so turning off the screen is still better than a screensaver.
So how should I configure this to be able to continue reading in “tablet mode”?
Sound awesome if you find a solution for the screen saver or if I should just go with some blank screen type of alternative configuration.
What you can do is disable the screensaver, and just set hypridle to blank the screen sooner.
From a power saving perspective the screensaver is CPU intensive, so not using it and going with screen blanking instead is a good idea in general.
I used the omarchy-toggle-screensaver command and then the omarchy-toggle-idle. Hope this solves it.
Ok, now I need to enter password after it blanks. Is there a screensaver that I could enter without password on short periods and with pass for longer?
