Portable standalone power supplies & batteries

I’d love to hear what folks are trying (and finding useful) when it comes to portable / battery-powered standalone mainboard projects.

I’m using an Anker 737 power bank to power the mainboard in a coolermaster case as well as a small touchscreen attached via an HDMI expansion card.

It’s working out pretty well, except I do wish it had a physical power switch and always-on behavior. When I turn the system back on, I usually have to unplug the cables first to get it to start delivering power again.

Unplugging a cable from any port, or plugging in a cable will also interrupt the battery power, so I have to shut the system down before I can start recharging the battery. Otherwise no complaints! I do like being able to see the power draw as it runs, too.

How are you powering your portable mainboard project?
