Qubes OS on Framework Laptop 13 Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 – BIOS virtualization hidden, community experiences?

Hi everyone,

I’m using a Framework Laptop 13 with an AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 (BIOS version LFK30.03.03) and trying to install Qubes OS 4.2.4.

However, both sys-net and sys-firewall fail to start with the following error:

libxenlight failed to create new domain ‘sys-net’

According to Framework Support, this is likely due to missing virtualization settings (SVM, IOMMU), but I can’t find any such options in the BIOS — even with supervisor password or in hidden/advanced menus.

Has anyone successfully resolved this issue on this specific hardware?

Any tips, experiences, or screenshots would be highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Best regards,

Klaus

IOMMU virtualization is enabled by default, no need to fiddle with the BIOS settings. You might need however the latest-kernelto install Qubes 4.2 (it’s an option in the boot menu):
