I have my laptop setup so that when I shut the lid (or if X amount of time has gone past), it will enter swaylock, then after that, sleep mode, then 30 minutes in sleep mode, it hibernates (writing RAM to disk). Given the modern APU and s2idle this has given me issues but as of right now. But that should be noted as there is some weirdness going on there.
While I think my sleep state and hibernation works, what I don’t understand is sometimes while using my laptop, everything will freeze and no matter what nothing responds, not ctrl+alt+f[1-9], nothing. Unless I hold the power button down and reboot it. I don’t know if this is hibernation issue. like if the GPU driver isn’t properly waking up from sleep state or something. I don’t think it’s a kernel panic, and I haven’t found anything in the logs, but maybe I haven’t looked properly. Oh and there isn’t a pattern. It’s not like it will do this right after waking up. It could do it 2 minutes after booting 2 hours, or not at all.
