[RESOLVED] Touchpad Stopped Working

I’ve had my Framework laptop for about a week now, and around 3 days in the touchpad stopped working for both Linux and Windows. I’m not 100% sure what the root cause is, but I believe it happened after I updated my BIOS (or maybe it was after I installed the Windows driver bundle?).

  • I tried going into the BIOS and disconnecting the battery, then plugging in the AC and rebooting, but it didn’t work.

  • I also tried running fwupdmgr enable-remote lvfs-testing then updating the firmware again, but afaik nothing happened.

  • I tried moving the touchpad to all 3 positions; left and center it doesn’t work, and in the right-most position the keyboard doesn’t work either.

  • xf86-input-libinput is installed

  • Even running dmesg | grep -i touchpad has no output

  • I booted into Windows and ran the driver install pack and BIOS update from Windows, but nothing happened

Issue was resolved by pushing the connector cable under the keyboard in again. I don’t remember what that cable is actually called though

Thanks for the update @dginovker , yeah those connectors usually just needs a little push whenever this happens. Marking as solved :slight_smile:
