Still waiting in Australia, confirmation email received Fri, 24 Mar 2023 04:02:08 +0000
Make that 3 people in Australia waiting to be charged aha. Been lurking since I placed my order.
Hoping the laptop will come soon so that I can replace my current one that likes to do weird stuff for no reason :V
Order confirmation came through on Sun, 26 March 2023, 11.31am UTC
Still waiting to be charged. NA East. Ordered March 23rd.
As long as its JEDEC it should be fine. I bought MT5600 CL40 and I expect it to work flawlessly.
If I remember correctly from the very very first batch it was also according to configuration. So if you have AUS keyboard (does that exist?) then it might come later.
Mine has already gone from Taiwan to Alaska, and now it’s in Memphis. Supposed to arrive before noon on Monday.
there is no aus keyboard. it’s just English US.
that’s amazing. at least they are coming in hot.
Still waiting to be charged here in the UK. Just a motherboard kit.
I just realized that my pre-order (7840U mainboard only) from as soon as they went live… was apparently moved to the back of the batch 1 bus for being overly eager. Because the site kept crashing and failing to process the order at the last step, apparently I wound up with two pre-orders that day. I got a notification via email later stating:
I have canceled the duplicate pre-order for you now so you may have seen a cancellation confirmation email arrive. Your original pre-order is still intact and can be seen at this page.
I finally just checked the page and see a single order from the 23rd that has been cancelled and my existing order is now from the 28th, when they sent the above notice.
Oh well, it still indicates Batch 1, so checking in! At most that’s hopefully just a couple week delay… and plenty of time for everyone else to figure out all the Linux quirks to streamline my install. I honestly would like to keep the downtime minimal, so I was already thinking I’d wait until the BIOS update was out before performing the swap which… this should easily make that choice simpler.
I haven’t been charged yet. My order shows March 26 and I’m in the USA
Customization

What do you plan with your old mainboard, in case you have one? I damaged my 11th gen and might need a replacement.
Given how backed up Framework support is, I wouldn’t wait to request a change.
Doesn’t that give you the pound sign instead of $? And another difference I can’t remember…
Think US keyboard better for Oz users?
I already have the CoolerMaster case. It’ll either become a “desktop” for my son or added to the home lab.
For those wondering about shipping times for the rest of Batch 1, looks like it’ll happen after Tuesday(Taiwan time).

I changed my order the other day and it was done overnight which was super.
Which kit did you buy? More power to you… I don’t like disappointment, so I am trying to not get my hopes up too much. Reality has an awful habit of failing to conform to my expectations
If you do attempt this, I would be curious how FW responds… Seeing as the three day grace period has lapsed.
Thanks for the info! Looks like there won’t be any more Batch 1 updates for at least another 72 hours.
Could you be more specific?
Same, I changed mine and it took like 9 hours for FW to take care of my request.
why would we want the pound sign instead of the dollar sign?
aus uses dollars. we use English US keyboards here m8
You said “English US”, I read the English as UK, yeah we definitely want the US English keyboard, not the UK English…
