I’m already using the CalDigit USB-C to DP adapter. Not working for me
That was my experience as well. Sadly, my monitors only have 1 DP port each and 2 HDMIs, so I would have to investigate alternative options of switching instead of replugging cables all the time. Dock station is shared between the personal 2 laptops (AMD framework laptop and Intel Windows one), while DP ports are used by the desktop PC.
What’s frustrating is that both external monitors work fine in Windows, just not in Linux, so it seems like a driver issue, not a hardware one.
for those who are using Hyprland I found that hard coding my monitor resolution in the hyperland.conf file was a easy way to “solve” this issue.
How flaky/racy is your setup? My TS4 works fine with my external 4k@144hz monitor most of the time. Other times the external monitor is not recognized at all. In some cases my external keyboard doesn’t work either.
Workarounds:
- Turn the power switch off and on, which powers my dock/monitor/etc.
- Turn everything off, including the framework laptop, and try again
This is extra annoying, because when my laptop is docked, its tucked away under my table. Every time I boot, there is a chance I have to climb under the table, plug stuff in and out, or turn things off and on again. All just to get my LUKS prompt work with my external keyboard.
