[RESPONDED] Sound card replacement?

Hi,

When I put my headphones on there’s this really really annoying popping / clicking sound that happens every few minutes. I’ve heard that this is because Framework went with a bad sound chip or sound card and I was curious if they sold these anywhere.

Nobody seems to know what’s causing it though. I set up a command to alter power save mode (as was recommended by the community) but it doesn’t really work.

Intermittent Popping/Knocking Noise

Yep, this is correct. It’s pulse stretching/PWM chirping as the fan figures out how to spin itself up. We’re not really happy with the behavior, and it’s something we plan to change the next time we source a fan. In the meantime, with 3.03 firmware we’ve reduced the extent that the fan spins up and down to make it more rare to hear the noise.

Whenever I click on a Youtube video it makes the sound, for example

I did the power save command talked about here. I thought it worked but when I would start up the computer again it would come back.
