Hey, I recently bought the Framework 16 with a AMD Radeon™ RX 7700S GPU, and sometimes I get this weird flickering issue, which is quite annoying… I think it occurs when the system uses the RX 7700S GPU to render. This also only occurs on the attached Display and not on any external Displays. I already tried reseating the cables of the Display… any idea why this is happening?

When you play did you set in bios to dGPU only? since thing is maybe when you play on internal it uses integrated graphics not dGPU, while using the hdmi or dp modules might be using your dGPU.

Since in Bios you can set so dGPU can be main gpu all time, even for internal display so integrated GPU becomes disabled i think.

Just a thought I had.

No, but I set it to use the discrete GPU in Prism Launcher

Try putting dGPU only in bios and try a game and see if flicker continues or goes away.

I am not familiar with prism launcher but if you have any space to enter launch command or launch options use this:

DRI_PRIME=1!

If my concerns are right the “launch with discrete grapics” is just using DRI_PRIME=1, or not telling the app to use exclusively the dgpu and if you start the launcher with this option, that is not in every case telling the game to use the dgpu.

In my findings this “!” difference is when applied, it will only use the dgpu.

The flickering happening when the igpu and the dgpu is switching.
