Hi. The translucent bezel is soooo good. I want it so much.
I already read that translucent plastic is much harder to work with, and Framework team spend much more time of each unit.
But I just want to show that for me, it looks like a premium feature and I want to pay much more for them (compare to the regular bezels). Framework team, don’t afraid to ask more to cover much more complex production.
I second this. I want the translucent bezel so much and love all things tech with clear plastic.
I’ve been refreshing the bezel page for a couple weeks just hoping to see it.
I would totally pay more for anything clear plastic and understand the manufacturing differences
The problem with manufacturing loss is not only the monetary cost, but the environmental one. If Framework has a yield of 50%, they are destroying half of the material they use for each unit—material that had to be prepared, processed, shipped—inevitably thrown out because it wasn’t saleable.
Doing that is not in line with Framework’s espoused mission.
