I ordered the black one and now I am wondering how you are solving the color combo. Do you simply get all aluminum, if you plan to use ports different to USB C and A?
At the moment only USB-C is available in many different colorways. Everything else is silver / aluminium (except the Ethernet expansion card which is translucent).
The keyboard is gray anyway, so a full black option simply does not exist. Personally went with 3 USB-C chassis color and 1 USB-C with an accent color I liked. Everything else will be silver, but I went with 4 USB-C and will only use the silver cards if I really need to.
I was going to have a Sage USB C card, but I changed it to aluminum for all cards to match.
I think colour matched vinyl skins for the expansion cards would help.
You know, I might actually switch all my cards to silver… Silver and bubblegum with a lavender trackpad sounds rad…
Actually, never mind; silver, translucent pink, translucent orange, and translucent purple expansion cards. … Damnit… Can’t make up my mind… I really wish Framework had a way to preview these for the 12…
My strategy was to go for symmetry. I ordered the Lavender, with two matching USB C, one USB A, and one HDMI. I plan to do the Aluminum HDMI and USB A both in the back slots, and the Lavender USB Cs both in the front slots.
It’ll be nice to be able to plug in for power on either side and also nice to just swap the HDMI and USB A for whichever side is more convenient to connect a monitor.
I gave up on having different expansion cards and bought the four USB-Cs in all the same color. I know the whole point of the cards is to customize your ports but I prefer using third-party dongles
Well as I think this mixing does not look nice, I took all in silver.
At the moment I have preordered grey, where silver will fit in, but with any other color I would also use silver. Currently I am still considering to switch to lavender, but the modules will stay in silver then
