Hi everyone,
I’ve received the Framework 13 Pro DIY with AMD and have successfully assembled it.
However in the latest Manjaro ISO that comes with kernel 6.18 when scanning for networks from my Ubiquiti Dream Router 7 (UDR7) I can only see the SSIDs for 2.4 and 5 GHz but not 6 GHz, even centimeters next to the router after scanning extended amounts of time. Of course the 6 GHz SSID has WPA3 enabled and so PMF is Required. That SSID connects fine with an iPhone Air and a Dell Latitude 7440 running Windows 11.
I’ve found a closed thread from last year but it should’ve been fixed: New Ryzen AI Framework 13 RZ717 wifi doesn't work great with 6ghz
other threads from 2024 discuss the older WiFi 6E RZ616 model, not sure if applicable for me and worth discussing in those threads.
Was an issue fixed with a newer kernel than 6.18? Before I spend way too much time figuring this out with iw reg and so on, I wanted to know if anyone else has successfully connected an RZ717 with a Ubiquiti UDR7 or something similar over 6 GHz so it would be worth the effort or not.
If it doesn’t work that’s not an issue, I can live with 5 GHz or even try the Qualcomm QCNCM865 wifi module it’s like 37 francs on Aliexpress, but I just wanted to ask for the experience of others in this.
