I just saw the new announcement for the Framework 13 Pro, and the part I’m most excited about is the haptic touchpad. My current touchpad has been half-dead for over a year now (after spilling a gallon of milk on my laptop…) and I’ve been waiting to replace it.
However, I see that the new touchpad seems to only come with the full Framework Laptop 13 Pro Input Cover Kit.
Would the haptic touchpad be compatible standalone? Or is the full kit required?
If it is compatible, are there any plans to sell it as an individual component? £179 is quite high considering I just replaced the keyboard itself (but not the cover) last year after the milk incident.
