Stylus click on tap doesn't work

Hi there! hope y’all are doing good.

So, I recently bought a framework 12 + stylus DIY edition.

I’m having trouble making the stylus work, I mean, it tracks movement (meaning the cursor moves perfectly aligned to where im dragging), the buttons work, but no pressure is applied so I basically can’t tap/draw.
Some important data:

  • So far, i have tried: NixOS, Fedora 44, Windows 11. Same issue in all of them.

  • I switched protocols in BIOS (between USI/MPP) multiple times, same issue in both.

  • I debugged the input events, it tracks with the behaviour I see, meaning I see the events TABLET_TOOL_BUTTON (BTN_STYLUS), TABLET_TOOL_PROXIMITY, TABLET_TOOL_AXIS. Always with pressure 0. Also I never see the event TABLET_TOOL_TIP, which I understand is the one I should see when tapping with the stylus.

  • Touch with fingers works perfectly, so the display doesn’t seem to be broken as far as I know.

  • I also made a firmware/BIOS update from 3.06 to 3.07, the issue remains

  • I also exchanged the tip of the pen just in case (at this point I will try anything lmao)

    I’m at my wits end, I tried everything I could think and don’t have a single clue whats wrong.

    Any of you guys experienced anything similar?

Can you try the stylus on a different device? Or try a different stylus?

Sadly, I currently don’t have any other compatible device/stylus, and the people I know w stylus have the ipad so it’s a no go :frowning:

I guess I’ll wait for the framework team to answer my support request
