I recently got the eip USI 2.0 stylus. From what little I understand about USI, it should just work right out of the box with any computer that supports USI, but I cannot for the life of me get it to connect to my computer. I went and changed the pen BIOS setting to USI 2.0, and I’ve installed all of the FW12 drivers. I don’t have another USI compatible computer to test the stylus on unfortunately, so there is the chance that it’s DOA.
After changing the BIOS setting to USI 2.0, my USI pen just worked with Windows. I didn’t have to do anything else. So there isn’t much I can tell you to try. It looks like that pen has to be turned on and off. Maybe there’s an issue with the pen? Are there any lights or anything to confirm that it’s charged and turned on?
Thank you! Yes, I charged it to full and it has a green light indicating that it’s on. What stylus did you use?
P.S Should the stylus I mentioned work with the FW12? As I mentioned I don’t have any devices I can use for testing so I want to be sure that it should work before I think about returning things.
I have tested several pens with the FW 12. The Penoval USI 2.0 pen, Penoval MPP 2.0, and Microsoft Slim Pen 2. All just worked. They all just worked in Windows and Linux, both in the OS in general, and in various drawing apps. In the case of the USI 2.0 pen, I did have to switch it to USI 2.0 in the BIOS, but that’s all I did.
