Just had the thermal pad confirmed to be shipped to me, so I want to share something positive I just experienced with the Framework 16.
One my cats likes to nuzzle the corners of laptop. Unfortunately, she sometimes progresses to biting, which is enough to ruin a MacBook. Ask me how I know that.
Guess what she just did.
Damage done: None.
Thanks, Framework.

I would never have even thought of that, but yeah, that would actually be a good reason to make a device with a massive bezel (with no technical reason to require a bezel)
Yeah I hear a lot of smack being talked about the Framework’s build quality over on Reddit, but to be honest I’ve brought the laptop with me around the world and have had no issues at all with the build. My FW 16 is pretty solid–albeit I haven’t dropped it. My MacBook actually has more dings on it and has traveled far less.
the average framework owner was previously a thinkpad or macbook owner so we all have a higher standard for perceived build quality. Frameworks certainly do flex a lot more than the aforementioned laptops. Though I haven’t been shipped my 2nd gen 16 so I’m not certain it still applies to every model.
