The prebuilt is cheaper than the diy-version?

Am I getting it right? The prebuilt version of the FW13Pro is cheaper than a identical diy FW13Pro? Looking for the Intel

Or am I getting something wrong?

Prices won’t always align. Their cost may be a bit higher when you’re getting items as individual parts. If I recall, there was mention that pre-builts can be tested as an assembled whole, whereas for DIY parts would need to go through individual testing.

Nrp mentioned in the past that they do try to keep prices close. But I know this question has come up before, so clearly they haven’t always got them to align.

A reddit mod of the /r/framework who speaks like they’re a framework employee (no idea if they are / who they are) recently said:

Pre-built generally uses our older RAM stock that was purchased by us at a lower price (as it’s pre-built and already in there), so they aren’t hit with RAM pricing increases as often. You can read more about it on our blog

The /r/Framework is run by Framework. The top listed mod, cmonkey, is Nrp / Nirav Patel. And last I knew on reddit the top listed mod has control to promote or remove other users. So Nrp does look to have control on /r/Framework.

The orange “Framework” user-tag looks to be used for Framework employees. With a separate green “Volunteer Moderator” tag.

From the name and profile picture, 1ChaoticEagle looks to be Eagle.

Thank you! So I ordered the prebuild

Current RAM-prices are so crazy, so 32GB have to be enough for the moment… :exploding_head: (Coming from a FrameWork12 with 48GB, this is really sad)…

And the prebuild with 1TB storage is cheaper than the same as diy without storage  So I’ll order a bigger ssd later and have 1TB additional “for free”
