I would expect there would be a little. However, I have my band-aids on the right side, away from the cpu so the effects of heat wearing out the adhesive are probably lessened.
Hello. I have been selling these drawers for a few years now and want a little bit of feedback about the pricing. I have been selling the normal drawers for $3.00 and the simple “lite” versions for $2.50 the whole time. Are these prices reasonable?
It’s not like I’m making much of any sort of profit on these, but I don’t have any reference for what expansion cards should cost besides the mass produced and shipped Framework ones. I worry that the prices are too low and setting a president that someone who wants to make a real business out of expansion cards could not match.
As some more context, the current standard shipping within the US is double the price of the drawer, if my time is not included, more if it is.
So, I am curious to hear what you all, if you have bought one or not, have to say on the pricing currently. Thank you.

Probably $ 4-5 would easily be fine as well.
Though if someone wants to make a real businiess out of it maybe they could probably increase the profit by getting better business shipping rates.

I’m probably going to pick up a pair or quad set for when I want to really go lightweight or ‘empty’ with my FW 13 coming later this month.
I had another idea for these. For those of you who like the design but just can’t go w/o four actual working ports in your FW13 (or six in your FW16), then just buy two or three of these, tape or glue them together, then place them on top of your keyboard surface while at work with your screen open. Then it becomes your personal micro in/out box! Before you know it you’ll be getting less and less work because your collegues will have to shrink down their paperwork to fit your inbox!! Problems resolving themselves by engineering design. I LOVE IT!!
Also, it appears to hold US dimes. That’ll get you a phone call on any pay phone in America… well… it used to. That was probably before my time. I do remember them being a quarter at least.

I just ordered six silver V2 and four Green V2 to go with my FW13 and FW16 respectively. These look like they might hold US stamps as well. Micro paperclips, folded post-it notes with your password on them so you don’t have to hide it under your keyboard anymore. Tons of microdots for you children of the 60s and 70s (you know what I’m talking about, right?.. No?.. umm, nevermind. Don’t tell me boss I know about this). You could even put your thumb print on the bottom of one of the pull-out trays to help the police identify it if it becomes stolen! Man, so many uses one could only dream!
But seriously, thank you for designing this. It’s a simple idea but it fills a niche with those who wanted it.

I am very grateful for your patronage to this little hobby business of mine. I hope they will serve you well and I’m always open to suggestions for improvements if you see one. (The medium drawer and captured drawers were both suggestions, for example)
Thank you, AlienCow! If I had a 3D printer, I would have purchased the file. I haven’t found enough ideas to buy one of those yet. 3D printing is about the only tech I haven’t tried to get into/collect so far. Thank you for coming up with this.

You’d be surprised how many things you end up printing once you have one. The tech is pretty mature at this point so is very user friendly to get into. I’d recommend a Prusa due to the company being trustworthy, the products no-fuss, and the quality high, there is a premium so if you went for a Bambu Labs or Ender printer I would understand.
And about the idea, no problem. I first came up with the idea as a joke, then realized that I could make that joke a reality, seems that people like the drawer idea so I designed, iterated and sold them.

Combine them!
A silicone copy of your thumb. In the event that you’re ever in a horrible blender accident, you can pull out your silicone thumb to log into your Framework via the fingerprint reader.
You know, to look up the closest hospitals & perhaps top-rated reconstructive surgeons in the area. And until then, you have a handy-dandy extra thumb.

I forgot to share my SNACK Drawer V2 delivery with everyone.
The ‘drawer’ feels really loose when you play with it in your hands. Once you slide it into the slot on your FrameWork it locks up solid and works correctly. My only caviate is with the ‘white’ color on the right side in the photos below. That is supposed to be the same color silver that matches the FW chassis. It has a very similar texture to the chassis but comes out more ‘pearl’ in color than silver. This isn’t critical for me however and I like them. I will not be able to compare the Green color until I receive my pre-ordered FW13 Intel Ultra, which is due in this month, on which I included a green bezel and green port modules.

Perhaps I should have been more clear on the buy page of the drawers I say the following:
and on the most recent thread where I announced that I had the new color I said:
The actual color is described by the manufacturer as “Silky White.” I am now considering buying another color that, while too dark, I think (It’s hard to match unpainted plastic to sand-blasted aluminum), may be a better match.
In the coming months, I will also make sure to do a full photoshoot with every available color both alone and inside the laptop so that prospective customers can get a better sense of how the drawers will look.

I ‘did’ only notice the “Best case match” comment and assumed they would be more like the Diet Coke label silver. It is a good idea to get a picture up showing the actual colors for those even more color anal than myself. LOL

Not really an option, but the cards could be shown in a standard Framework chassis so the diff can be seen
Oh! Please don’t take my mentioning of how I described the color as a passive aggressive jab. I just meant to put them into the conversation so we could discuss how I might better describe the color to better meat people’s expectations.
