Does the 2pin RTC connector allows non rechargeable batteries like in any other laptop/desktop?

I doubt it, but they haven’t said. It’s really not good to put non-rechargeable RTC batteries in any device that is designed for rechargables. It can damage the board and/or the battery, and would need to be replaced often.

For a short moment, I thought we are going to see the product road map. ^^;

Nope! Not a framework employee, so I don’t have that info (as much as I would love to as well).

It wouldn’t be wise for them to publish unreleased products too. But I admit I was tempted to click into this post in hopes of seeing something about Meteor Lake.

If I have the Framework Laptop 13 DIY Edition (AMD Ryzen™ 7040 Series) shipped January 2024, is that considered 1st Gen Batch 1, then?

No. Batch 1 of AMD 7040 Series shipped in October 2023. You placed an in-stock order.
