Purchased the Framework Laptop 13 Mainboard (AMD Ryzen™ 7040 Series) with Ryzen 5 7640U. Under the sticker that has “rtc battery optional”, there does not seem to be a spot/clip etc to put said battery. Can’t find anything on the support pages or google about hwo to add an rtc/cmos battery or clip etc to this mainboard. A few things I could find read its not needed.

There’s no longer a holder on 13th Gen Intel and AMD boards. I presume that there is only solder points left.

There’s a connector on the mainboard that’ll allow you to attach a RTC battery. On the marketplace, there’s a listing for the CMOS battery so in the future, you’ll be able to pick one up from Framework. In the mean time, they’ve previously published what types of CMOS batteries are compatible with AMD and 13th gen boards.
