Touchpad module won't fit in the left configuration

I purchased a FW 16 used. The touchpad module fits and works perfectly in the center and right configurations. However, I cannot get it to fit in the left configuration.

If I try to slide it in, it pops out on either side of the module. I cannot get it to slide in flush in that left configuration. The touchpad itself doesn’t seem to make a complete connection either - meaning: even if it’s loosely sitting near flush, the mousepad doesn’t work.

Has anyone else run into this issue and successfully troubleshooted it?

It’s probably not your issue, but note that not all keyboard / touchpad location combinations are possible: knowledgebase.frame.work/possible-input-module-combinations-on-framework-laptop-16-rJZi7BcwT. You don’t mention where the keyboard is when you are trying this.

His keyboard has to be in the center or he couldn’t have both right and center touchpad working which also means it wont work on the left.

Ah, yup. That would certainly have to be the issue. The keyboard is indeed in the center.
