Trying to install Debian 13 "Trixie" and stalls out

Which Linux distro are you using? Debian 13 “Trixie”

Which release version?
(if rolling release without a release version, skip this question)

(If rolling release, last date updated?)

Which kernel are you using? 2.6.26-1-686

Which BIOS version are you using? 3.05

Which Framework Laptop 16 model are you using? (AMD Ryzen™ 7040 Series) AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS w/ 780M Graphics.

I’m trying to install the newest version of Debian - Debian 13 “Trixie”. It starts to install ok, then stalls out when it is trying to recognize my network setup. I am using the QualComm NCM865 WiFi 7 chip and the ethernet expansion port. I was hoping that the new release would support this WiFi 7 chip. Any help will be appreciated.

Double check that. If it’s right, I’m surprised it boots.

Debian 13 is using 6.12 kernel. Seems like the support for that card is in the 6.133 kernel.

Do you have the wifi card that shipped w/the Framework still?

I would put that back in, get D13 booted, and see if something like this guide helps:

The installer definitely does not like it when I tried it. I didn’t bother reinstalling the card once I’d got Debian installed. Try a different card like Intel or the stock Mediatek card just for the installation.
