Ubuntu 24.04.1 LTS / KWorker 100% processor usage post upgrade

Hi folks,

I ran the Ubuntu 24.04.1 LTS upgrade and since then I’ve had multiple episodes of the computer maxing out processor usage (KWorker appears to be responsible). The only solution I’ve found is to reboot (from a command line since getting the mouse pointer to a specific point on the screen is effectively impossible, it’s so slow).

Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Hey,
my only thoughts are:
a) Update firmware
b) Update bios to 3.04 beta
c) Use powertop to maybe find out what is going on (and use it to tune your power consumption)

I did a quick websearch and it seems like KWorker is doing the system calls.
