Anyone else tried plugging HDMI into the new LG 5k2k monitor?

The lil’laptop seems to struggle to keep a steady output (my nvidia desktop handles it just fine).

Other information that may be useful

❯ uname -r
6.14.0-23-generic

Another thing I noticed was the the laptop didn’t detect the max resoultion. It only went up to 4k.

I was looking at AMD’s website, and they say that the CPU can go up to 8k (at lower refresh rate), so… maybe it’s a linux/kernel/driver issue?

How do I debug this sort of thing?

I’m pretty sure this was an issue with the HDMI module / port I have.

I bought a USB-C to HDMI adapter, and things work fine now.

So I suppose the HDMI module I got with my laptop is either too old or just doesn’t support the resolution for the monitor
