I’ve recently been tasked with setting up a Framework Laptop 13 and was asked to enable Secure Boot. However, after thoroughly navigating the BIOS, I wasn’t able to find any option to enable it.
It would be incredibly helpful if there was a video tutorial available, especially an official one from Framework, covering BIOS settings in detail.
Personally, I find the forum a bit difficult to navigate, so having more in-depth BIOS walkthroughs on the official Framework YouTube channel would be a great resource for users like myself.
There should be a top-level section named Security
. At the bottom of that page is a section for Secure Boot
. You can access that section by navigating to it with the arrow keys and pressing Enter.
I know this does not meet your criteria and is not particularly easy to find; however, there is a comprehensive list of all available settings, as well as screenshots of those settings, on this forum! BIOS guide.

So that didn’t help me, as I did see the Secure Boot option in the BIOS. I noticed there’s a new BIOS update that was supposed to “fix” the issue with keys going missing, but I’m still unable to get Secure Boot working.
I tried enabling the Reset Secure Boot option, and after rebooting, it still shows Secure Boot: DISABLED.
I also used the CLEAR VAR version of the BIOS.
Does anyone know how I’m supposed to fix this or what I might be missing?
EDIT: Got it working once I reinstalled the Clear VAR bios update and then did the steps on the bios update page. Now i need to find a way to get the database to say UNLOCKED and User Security to say YES. Any help?
