Upgraded to Linux Mint 22, lots of things stopped working

I recently upgraded mint using ‘mintupgrade’, and my laptop no longer recognises

  • The wifi card
  • The camera
  • The speakers
  • The microphone

The trackpad sees inputs but is not useable – it does not allow any cursor movement, and acts as though it is constantly held down – so i’ve had to use an external mouse.

Has anyone else experienced this, and have a way to solve it?

I have already tried applying the framework forumula (which worked for me previously) with no effect.

Does a live CD of the same distro version have the same issues ?

No. I reinstalled Mint 22 from a USB, and so far things appear to be working. I’ll keep updating if I find anything wrong. I guess the issue was with my specific setup, but worth warning that upgrading from 20 to 22 may result in issues, as 20 was working fine for me.

That’s interesting. It’s odd but always worth checking
