After my previous post (Broke bezel during installation, can it still be returned?) I purchased a new bezel and installed it. At first it didn’t fit quite right on the back and I removed it, rerouted the display cable hopefully correctly, and put it back on. It did fit, but it appears a small metal plate fell out from the hinge area. Everything works, but what is this? Should I be concerned?
This plate belongs to the bezel, see picture.
I think the best way to stick it back is with thin double-sided adhesive tape.
Make sure that you handle the bezel with care. See manuals.
Kind regards.

Are you definitely fully opening the laptop screen until it’s right back and flat against the table before trying to add or remove the bezel? You will find it difficult if you don’t follow the instructions and completely open it all the way back.

Yes I do. But that plate appeared to be attached to the hinge assembly, perhaps from the old bezel that broke? I believe that there currently is one in the laptop, and the new bezel just pushed out the old plate
Thank you, I may check, though I believe it never detached from the new bezel, rather was left over from the old one
